DOTCOM Phase #3, Module 2 - Exploring REEL BAD ARABS

Because of the majority of the information associated with the arabs ,i mention so
many things when my brain faces with this word.There are very deep historical connections between our nations.
Now weather's gonna get cold.Excellent arabian resorts have a wonderful enjoyment now if you wanna rest .Source for my mind is my interest to the arabian region.

1)THE THREE-PART BRAIN - In what ways do YOU think REEL BAD ARABS attracted your REPTILIAN (instinctual), FEELING (limbic) and THINKING (neo-cortex) brains?
Reptilian-First i felt myself very well under the impression the music.Then my relaxation disappeared gradually while i was noticing the bad stereotypes of Hollywood.
Limbic-I loved music really very much.It is one of the my most favourite kind of the music.
Neocortex-During the movie I noticed the negative stereotypes of Hollywood,about this nation.I didn't approve it.This people has very great importance in shaping the cultures and history of the nations of our region.
2)PRODUCTION TECHNIQUES - List and describe one specific production technique - lighting, music, camera effects, editing - used by REEL BAD ARABS.
Of course i liked the music most.Camera effects also were ok.
3)PERSUASIVE TECHNIQUES - Looking at our list of 24 plus persuasive techniques, list and describe a specific moment from the film as an example of THREE different specific persuasive techniques used by our filmmakers.
Big lie -The person is under the impression of these movies ,can make negative stereotypes easily.hollywood shows that ,they are just terrorist or stupid millioners.We have to take it account too that arabs don't have positive stereotypes about americans either.Remember it that ,, Are all americans fat and stupid?Are all muslims terrorist?''
Plain fox-They used ordinary people in the movie.It has great role to make such stereotypes.We can't concern some inferior features of arabs to they all.
4)SUGGESTIONS - Offer one specific suggestion for the REEL BAD ARABS filmmakers that might make their film even more powerful.
I offer to Hollywoood to take it account that it has great impression in shapin' people's stereotypes.That's why they've to research every thing before shooting a movie.Because of one or two people the mustn't put mote on whole nation.

Hi everybody.I greet you everybody.Tomorrow I'll go to school.I wish so much success to all in their school activities.

1. What proved the most challenging part of our July Phase 2 DOTCOM experience for you?
I got lived hard times when i worked with my group seldom.Sometimes i wasn't able to show my aid to them.Because couldn't express or share my statements with my group.That;s why it made me be depressive seldom.
Except it ,i didn't face any trouble.
2. What proved the most rewarding part of our July Phase 2 DOTCOM experience for you?
I got home with so much changes in myself,in my brain.I met various individuals.I got acquainted with their thoughts.This journey had great impact on shifting my own stereotypes about a lot of things.For me taking place genuine truths, instead of stereotypes ,in my brain is more valuable than each pecuniary items.
3. What proved the most fun part of our July Phase 2 DOTCOM experience for you?
I had a real fun when i was in Bolton -flying in the sky.That was fantastic sense.It was excellent mixture of fear and entertainment.I was in Stowe too.It's just wonderful site to have a fun.That was cool.
4. What are you most excited about, looking forward to our online Phase 3 DOTCOM experience coming up this fall?
During our work in the US ,we learnt a new way to distribute our thoughts-Movie making.Movie is just combination of voice and movement for the first look.But it can be able great things.It's wonderful way to express minds.I'm gonna be taught new things during our next modules for increasing my ability in this sphere

Day #5: Our First DOTCOM Reflection Assignment (For Monday, your "Day Off")

1) I am afraid I am unable to answer this question. The reason I am unable to answer this question is that my time in the city of D.C was quite brief. Additionally, I was unable to fully absorb any media during my brief stay. Unfortunately, I was only able to visit the city of Washington D.C for about a day. Also, in the time I was in D.C I was occupied with acquainting myself with my partners from the US. Due to the fact that I was inside for most of my stay in D.C, I was unable to expose myself to American Media.
2).. I actually built relationship with my student colleagues, before we came to United States and i was anxious to meet them in person. the reason was that they seemed really friendly and good to get along with. Since we came to United States, we had expanded our friendship, which is great.

3)The most challenging part for me is taking a film. besides of it's a great idea it's really hard for us. because i had never been experienced something like that in my life. for me the challenging part is the most interesting=)

4) I love to experience new things in my life. that's what makes life interesting. So i can't tell what is the most interesting for me. Vermont Life, My US partners, our host family- everything is amazing!

2.Social Justice:Social issues espacialy social situation of people residing in various parts of the world. is very actual matter nowadays. It was reflected in the latest report of UN, that there is 1.2 million pour people suffering from starvation in the world. I think it is enough big figure and problem for our little bird. This issue and problem must be clarified and solved.

3.Religion:I am sure that religion is the most important thing in the world. Even religions can determine the politics of the states. Religion always invites us to the justices way. Today there are some conflicts and discriminations associated with religion and other matters in the world. I think all conflicts can be solved with intrareligion dialog and tolerance.

This commercial impresses 2 parts of my brain.
1) Limbic
2) Neocortex
It influences my limbic brain because, under the impression of the music and the clothes of the actors ,i feel the old western life in America. When I watch this commercial, my neocortex brain also works. It makes me think about the outstanding American cowboys. It reminds me the life in Western USA.
There are a lot of ways of persuasion in this commercial.
1. Symbols. The symbol of this commercial is “Pepsi” which is one of the most famous cola companies.
2. Big Lie. It is a big lie : How can these people fight only for Pepsi.
3. Nostalgia. This commercial gives me a chance for to think about the cowboys. This advertisement reminds me western life.
4. Testimonial. In this commercial many famous people participate. David Beckham is one of them.
5. Strength. The struggle for Pepsi gives D.Beckham strength.
6. Plain folks. In this advertisement we can see other cowboys as the plain folks besides main players

I see a life of a man in nonsense in this film. The film shows the reality. This film influences the limbic part of my brain.

1) Yeah, i read books when i have free time. I like to read fiction books from Azerbaijan and world literature. I read comic and outobiographic works. I like works about about the adventure and peoples' life too. I also read non fiction books about different states,people and geography. I read books about history of Islam and about The Prophets' life.

2) I interest with architecture. that's why i buy arhitectural magazines which shows the catalogue of the houses and different skyscrapers. I buy newspapers to follow cultural, politic news.

3) I listen to music everytime. I can't play any instruments. But i would like to play the guitar. i like to listen to rap, Azerbaijanian folk music. I listen to foreign pop music. I like spain, arabian, american music. i listen to music via my cell and ipod. rap is my favorite music. i like the raps of 50 Cent. In Azerbaijan Host Alliance is my favorite rap group.I like rock too.LINKIN PARK is my favorite group.

4) I watch Tv everyday. i watch geographical,historical and architectural programs in television. i also like to watch musical programs. i follow news everyday in television. I follow politic news. i watch movies too. i like old Azerbaijanian and Hollywood movies.

5) I play video games. i enjoy and rest when i play games. i usually play games about cars, football, tennis and so on. my lovely games are need for speed, rally, GTA, UEFA and so on. I play missional games for example Total Overdos.

6) I often use computer for my works. i use computer to prepare presentations, i listen to music in computer. i also watch slides and films.
